UV Screen Printing

UV screen printing plays a significant role in making your package standout on the retail shelves. Pad Printing

Pad printing involves transferring ink from a silicone pad to the object you want printed. Think of it as a process similar to using the rubber stamps that hobbyists often collect Using a machine that holds both the pad and the promotional product steady, the pad is pressed into an inked plate etched into the shape of your desired artwork. The pad is then pressed into the actual object, creating a crisp printed image
Hot Stamping

Hot stamping is a technique in which colored foil is applied to the surface through a combination of heat and pressure. Can be used on Flat and Round surface. Hot stamping produces a shiny and luxurious appearance on cosmetic tubes, bottles, jars, and other closures. Colored foils are often gold and silver, but other colors are also available, ideal for a signature design
Large Format Printing

Large format printing is an advertising medium that support maximum print roll width. The beauty of this type of printing is it gives you the luxury of a bigger area to work with. Embossing and Debossing

Embossing creates a raised image and debossing creates a recessed image. These techniques add branding value to the package by creating a unique logo design that consumers can touch and feel. Mostly applied on flat and flexible surface.
Dry Offset Printing
Dry Offset printing uses printing plates to transfer ink onto the containers. This technique is more precise than silkscreen printing, and is effective for multi colors (up to 8 colors) and halftone artwork. Advantages of offset printing:More precise on multi-color artwork, Utilized for halftone artworks and gradients, High-speed production.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of plastic can you print on?
Plastic Container Printers can reproduce anything that is readable on a label to a screen print onto your container. We can print containers as small as 20ml and up to 300mm depending on the shape.
What type of artwork is required?
We require a PDF of the design, we will view the artwork, make sure it fits correctly around the container and suggest any other changes. When everything is correct, our preferred format for graphic files is either Vector EPS or Adobe Illustrator AI files with colour separation. These can be suppled in a press-ready PDF
Can you print barcodes?
Yes, You need to register an EAN barcode which is then produced and incorporated into the artwork. Barcodes printed on containers must have sufficient contrast between the container colour and barcode, in some occasions a printed white panel may be required if the contrast is not sufficient.
Do you print and provide promotional products?

PCP works mostly with plastic manufactures within East Africa. But we can also supply containers from local manufactures if our clients need.

Label Glossary – Understanding The Basics
Label Adhesive
The glue substance on a material for adhesion to create a pressure-sensitive “peel and stick” application. For example: Can be added on the back of the label. If the label is being applied to a window, it will go on the outside of the window. Can be added on the front of the label. If the label is being applied to a window, it will go on the inside of the window.
Flagging
Evidence that the label size it too large for the container due to a bulge along the edge of your label.
Peeling
Curling or peeling labels occur when applied in wet, damp and cold environments. When the place you are applying to is dirty or greasy. Peeling or curling can occur when you don’t allow enough time for the adhesive to set before entering the label in unfavorable condition.
Adhesives Types
Permanent adhesive cannot be removed without either tearing the label or tearing the surface that the label is applied on. Ideal for most labels including box and shelf labels. Removable adhesive can be peeled off and reapplied. This is ideal for labels that are only used temporarily or will need to be removed later. Freezer adhesive is designed for application and performance below 32°F. Freezer grade adhesives are used on case-ready meats and on goods that have to withstand the cold and moist conditions of freezers.
Flexo (Flexography)
A printing process utilizing flexible printing plates and roll-fed materials, to be finished in roll or sheet form.
Pressure Sensitive Labels
A self-adhesive label which is easily applied to a surface by pressure. Repositionable Label Patterned adhesive that allows the label to be applied and reapplied to almost any surface. Removes cleanly leaving no residue. Reverse Image is created by the label stock color showing through the ink coverage.
Back-Score
A slit in the liner of a pressure sensitive label, used to assist in the removal of the face-stock from the liner.
Foil Stamping
Using a die to place a metallic or pigmented image on paper. Can be applied with a hot or cold method.
Roll/Rewind Direction
The orientation in which the finished label comes off the roll. Exact specifications must be supplied when an order is placed to ensure trouble free application.
Single Labels
Are individually cut and stacked.
Spot Color Label Printing
(One, two, three & up to ten color printing) The use of one ink for each color printed. Single colors are used when process color is not necessary. Separate plates are required for each ink color being applied to a material.
Lamination
Clear plastic coating that provides extra durability. Matte can be written on, shiny is a high gloss coating
Bar Code (UPC)
One of several machine-readable codes used at retail, manufacturing, and shipping levels to identify products. A graphical bar pattern is printed on your label which can encode numbers and letters in a format which can easily be retrieved and interpreted by a bar code reader.
